Job Overview

This role involves supporting a local authority adaptations team to provide major and minor adaptations and specialist equipment to people’s homes, to improve independence and safety.  Knowledge of specialist equipment, adaptations and manual handling is required in order to recommend suitable solutions for clients.

You will undertake occupational therapist assessments of the housing needs of adults with disabilities. You will be asked to come up with suitable solutions to your clients’ challenging problems. You will have the ability to improve people’s lives by recommending adaptations to overcome environmental barriers.

This role will suit you if you have 2-3 years of occupational therapist experience specialising in housing and manual handling.  You will be passionate about improving people’s lives and also wanting to develop yourself and your career.  You may currently be working in a local authority, looking to move to a commercial role or someone currently in private practise wanting to join a company at an exciting time of its growth, with a team who make a real difference!

The position is office-based in Saffron Walden with regular travel to Southend-on-Sea.  Occasional wider UK travel and overnight stops may be required, as dictated by client and team requirements.

Client Services Coordinator (full-time)

Job Overview

The role of Client Services Coordinator is aimed at an enthusiastic individual who can work closely with the Client Services Manager and the Occupational Therapy team to deliver high-quality end to end service to our clients.

The role requires analytical skills, critical thinking and the ability to make decisions with regards to the way customer service is provided within the business.

About the person

This person needs to be conscientious and empathetic towards the sensitive nature of our clients and motivated by the provision of excellent customer service. We are looking for someone who feels strongly about equality and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Balancing attention to detail, methodical thinking and time management with initiative and flexibility to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across the business.

You must be a team player and enjoy working within a small team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The following is a list of some key responsibilities and duties of this job, it includes some administration tasks and front-line responsibilities:

Administration duties-

    • Calling clients to book appointments & carry out a Covid-19 assessment
    • Answering incoming queries via telephone or email
    • Recording of the Occupational Therapists mileage
    • Diary & mailbox management
    • Scanning & filing documents
    • Booking travel, training, & conferences
  • Ordering stationary for the office

Front line duties-

  • Supporting the occupational therapists with property searches for clients
  • Supporting the Clients Services Manager with project management work
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Possible experience working in a similar environment
  • Strong customer service skills – phone and email
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive, can do attitude

  • Can demonstrate working well under pressure
  • Critical thinker and ability to make decisions and act upon them
